Jan. 26th.; Good Afternoon Windsor High School Staff

This afternoon, Google sessions will be offered by Larry, Andy and Ben.  I've prepared a few handouts that may help when you have Google related "how to" questions.

As you develop Google docs files that you would like to share with your colleagues, we already have an WSSU archive prepared for accepting those files. For directions to access and add files to the WSSU archive, click here. Directions to add stuff to the archive.

If you would like additional Google related help, click here for directions to the tech resource blog from the WSSU homepage, or email me (askerker@wsesu.net) and let know when you are available to meet; I'll come to you.

Just completed!

The WSSU Technology Integration Committee has finished its work combining the ISTE student profiles, the new VT Technology Grade Expectations with examples from the committee and the VT Classroom Scenarios document.  The document provides suggestions for what technological experiences a student should be able to demonstrate by grade level (K-8) clusters.  It also mentions specific examples of activities that you might use to in your classroom.

Google Apps for Hartland staff

This afternoon, we'll spend some time going over some of the Google Apps. Here are some of the items that I would like to cover:

  • basic uploading and downloading a file to your google docs folder,
  • quick additions to make your gmail account friendlier;
  • using the Google doc form as a formative assessment tool
    • you'll be taking a sample assessment, and
    • will learn how to share the document with an individual or group of people

I will handout a few pages germane to today's session but I've prepared additional handouts that you may access online.  Print what you need.

Today's sample assessment is about the solar system.
